    Festival Opportunities -- 2007

       200720062005

After the Festival, we'll recognize our 2007 sponsors here.  Of course, you may view our gracious 2006 sponsors until after the 2007 Festival.  In the meantime, we use this space to offer opportunities to help produce the upcoming Festival.

The 2007 Round Rock Daffodil Festival has openings for volunteers, sponsors, donors, exhibitors, vendors, service providers, entertainers, etc., etc.  If you don't find your special interest in the list below, use the General link to initiate discussions.

All proceeds from the Festival are used by the Round Rock Senior Citizens Foundation to benefit facilities and programs for seniors in the Round Rock area.  Since we are a certified 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, your contributions may be tax deductible.  For that same reason, we need all possible consideration to keep our costs low.  Your gratis or low-cost services, along with our own, will go a long way to support our community efforts.  Thanks in advance!

Follow the links, below, for more information about several areas in which you can help.

Volunteers – We encourage your early involvement.  Just look at the list of opportunities!

Sponsors and Donors – Consider tax-deductible gifts and advertising values.

Exhibitors, Vendors and Service Providers – Demonstrate your family-oriented businesses.

Entertainers – Show us your stuff.  Make some kids smile.  Adults, too.

Security Specialists – Help keep the festival safe while enjoying it yourself.

General -- If we overlooked your specialty, we want to hear from you, too.

  Volunteers

The Foundation Board has only a few members, and as you can imagine, we few are mostly seniors ourselves.  As such, when we conduct fund raising activities, we need the help of many volunteers.

You or your community service group may or may not have helped us in the past.  We have been learning how to utilize such volunteer help, and we wish to invite your participation in this season’s early planning to continue that process, to make the project much more satisfying to you and your group, and to improve overall enjoyment for our community.  Contact us now!

There are two major projects:
(1) Daffodil bulb sales, promotions and plantings in the fall
(2) Daffodil Festival in the spring.

You are invited to help with each.

We would like to meet at the earliest convenient time with you and/or your service group to explain these projects and arrange details for working together, including planning and implementation.  With your participation in advance planning, we can become a very effective team.

Following is a partial list of tasks for which we need volunteer support.  If you or your organization can help us with any of these tasks, or if you can suggest areas we may have overlooked, please contact us at your earliest convenience so we can each prepare.  Now would not be too soon!

  Sponsors and Donors

Here is a way to effectively build awareness and favorable impression of your business for a very reasonable cost.  It's a wonderful opportunity to get your business name in front of a large collection of potential customers, and do so in a friendly environment when they are more receptive to your message.  This warm community environment is the annual Round Rock Daffodil Festival – coming next on Saturday, March 24, 2007.

Establish and/or build your brand by associating your business with a fun, community-supporting endeavor.  It's an advertising opportunity as well as a wonderful public relations opportunity all in one very affordable package.

We offer opportunities for various levels of involvement.  Of course, the greater your participation, the greater potential return for your business.  Cut through traditional advertising clutter by exposing prospective customers to your business in an environment where they are more open and receptive to what you have to say.  It's a great way to build a bond between your business and these potential customers, and a great way to demonstrate your business leadership by showcasing your leadership in the community.

Please consider participating in the 12th annual Daffodil Festival--a free celebration of spring with daffodil blooms, family fun, food, music, arts, crafts and expert horticulture presentations.  Festival-goers will enjoy a wonderful day—and, with your assistance, they will also enjoy a positive impression of your business' offerings.

You or your business may choose to participate in one or more of these ways:
•    Donations of door prizes (generally, valued under $10)
•    Donations of items for the auction or raffle (much greater values, but at least $10)
•    General donations of money to meet or exceed festival expenses
•    Sponsorships of specific parts of the festival (for example, public service activities, entertainment, games, personalities, etc.)

Donations and sponsorships may promote your business.

Your support will be recognized in the following ways, based on its level.

Level

  Recognition
Ground Breaker   $50   Listing on our website for the entire year

Flower Bed   $100   Listing on our website with a link to your business
and a listing in the Festival program

Bulb   $250   All of the above and
   special recognition throughout the Festival

Bloom   $500   All of the above and
special mentions in our print and TV ads

Bouquet   $1000   All of the above and your own banner on the building

The Festival's proceeds support facilities and programs for area seniors through the Round Rock Senior Citizens Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit, charitable, tax-exempt corporation.  Your donations may be tax-deductible. Our tax ID number is 74-2625764.

And don’t forget you will be supporting the festival and your community. That’s something worthwhile in itself.  Getting the marketing and public relations benefits as well is quite a bonus for your business.

If you would like to support your community in these ways, please let us know your generous intentions as soon as possible .  The following e-mail links are offered for your convenience.

  Security

Because the Festival has grown large, there is the need for a security plan and volunteers to implement it.  In fact, if there are volunteers with experience, we would encourage them to submit their plan as well as their volunteers.

The City of Round Rock emergency responders will be aware of and monitoring the Festival, but they have other continuing duties and emergencies to attend as well.  Therefore, they cannot dedicate resources solely for this event.

While we don’t anticipate any problems, we’d like to have experienced people mingling with the crowd and enjoying the activities while alert for situations which may need to be stabilized until official help can be notified and respond.  Experience with security, safety, fire and first-aid will be useful.

Planning would include making arrangements with City of Round Rock emergency responders such that a clear liaison and response process is agreed upon prior to the Festival.

If you have, or know of others who may have, such interest and experience, or if you simply wish to participate in this way, we invite you to contact us for discussions.  Let us know how you would like to participate.
